Sir Robert Drury (1543-1625) was the 4th-great grandson of Sir Roger of Rougham, and is also buried at Rougham Church. He married Elizabeth Drury, daughter of Sir William of Hawstead and Elizabeth Sotehill. They were 4th cousins. Robert's son, Thomas, compiled the Drury Pedigree pedigree in 1610. The Latin inscription on his monument translates to: "Ye bodies of master Robert Drury (Golden) knight, first of ye first family of ye Drurys, and of mistress Elizabeth his wife, daughter of master William Drury of Hawstead, soldier (of ye Privy Council of Mary, Queen of this Realm) are placed here in ye sure hope of resurrection. Monument to Sir Robert Drury of Rougham. Sir Robert's monument is rarely seen as it is enclosed within the chancel area of the church, now used as a kitchen area, behind a curtain. The narrow grey tablet (above right) below the main inscription, shows a barely visible reclining figure with head to the left. Below left: The Drury arms are impaled on the left side of the armorial shield at the bottom of the monument. Bottom right: The Drury arms are in the top left quadrant of the arms of Robert Drury.
