Rev. Thomas Jefferson Gideon (1851-1937) was born in Arkansas, son of William Gideon and Lucinda Matthews. He married first Alice Robinson, and second Ida Buck. He was the minister of the Methodist Church, pastoring in several churches in Arkansas and later transfering to Missouri. He settled in Hartville, MO where he died in 1937.
