St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church and Cemetery, Hollywood, MD

St. John's was established in 1690 and named for a 16th century French Jesuit priest, St. John Regis. The ortiginal church was built along a spring near Three Notch Road about a mile south of the present town of Hollywood. In 1780 a new church was built, 100 yards west. The present church located at St. John's Road and Rt. 235 (formerly Hickory Hill and Three Notched Roads) was dedicated July 10, 1898.
